I’m sure you’re thinking “Come onnnnn, Lily! YOU know better!”… but multiple nights a week I have video meetings (pictured below at 11pm) and then I’m all hyped up and on creative overdrive.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t zonk out in front of my computer at least once a week.
So I did a little digging on how bad it actually is to sleep in your makeup. I needed to find some research to convince me to do better because I’ve totally told myself…
“Ehhh… My skin doesn’t break out from it…”
“Ehhh…my makeup is loaded with nourishing ingredients…”
“Ehhh…it can’t be that big of a deal…”
but the truth is, it’s just NOT a good choice to sleep in your makeup (toxin free or not) for a multitude of reasons.
1️⃣ Eye irritation or infection
2️⃣ Breakouts (especially when conventional cosmetics are used)
3️⃣ It traps dirt and environmental pollutants into the skin… Which can result in…
👎🏼 Increased free radical damage
👎🏼 Collagen degeneration
👎🏼 Premature aging
👎🏼 Dull, dry, or course complexion
That’s gonna be a no for me…
